Gung Hay Fat Choy!

That means "Happy New Year" in Chinese. It's the Year of the Boar.

And, this year is even more special because it's the Year of the Golden Boar, which only happens every 60 years!

To celebrate Chinese New Year, we went to Chinatown for the Golden Dragon Parade and a day of adventures!

First, we did a little shopping.

It's a custom to give gifts of oranges and tangerines for the New Year, but Daddy bought us some cool toys instead.

Next, time for some lunch. Mommy bought us some delicious dim sum... potstickers and egg rolls.

The potstickers had spinach, button mushrooms, and shrimp inside.

And the egg rolls had chicken inside.

Mommy was so busy taking pictures while we were eating that there was not much left for her to eat. Sorry Mommy... but when you snooze, you lose!

For dessert, we had chinese donuts, almond cookies and fortune cookies. The best lunch ever!

The parade began just as we were finishing lunch. We saw a big, dancing dragon...

and Chinese princesses...

and a police Hot Wheels car...

and the Golden Boar himself. He sure was golden! I'm not sure why he is in a shopping cart instead of on a royal throne or something...

The parade was real cool!

Next, we set of some firecrackers, which are supposed to ward off the evil spirits.

Take that you evil spirits!

A little more shopping...

and two swords for Irisa and me.

And just in time! After leaving the market area, I was challenged to a duel on the street by another warrior. I was victorious!

Here, Irisa and I were filming the prequel to...

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

As you can see, I did all my own stunts in the movie!

Wow... what a great Chinese New Year celebration! You sure know how to party, Chinatown!
