Let the Sparring Begin!

I had karate belt testing. Here I am as a ninja belt- the last of the white belt ranks.

Now, I am a Yellow belt. And that means I can now do sparring. I have been waiting a long time for this!

hoop dreams

Player number #1, ready for some fun!

Practicing my 3 pointers. I actually made one, just like this one, at the last second of the game. The crowd went wild. No one could believe I made it. I was even surprised! It was SWEET!

Our team is called the Tar Heels. Here are the starters for the game. We're sizing up the competition.

It was an action packed, on the edge of your seat game!

Shredding Snow

I left school early on Friday, and I was very excited! We headed up to the mountains... Big Bear for the weekend! Here is my new snow toy, a snow slider. I shredded the snow for hours with this!

When it got dark, we had fun playing in our cabin. Daddy and I watched the football games on TV, and our cabin was big enough to actually play football inside! We put together a puzzle.

I got to put in the very last piece. This bunny looks like Honeybun, one of the bunnies that we petted in the barn. There were also llamas in the barn, but we didn't pet them. We laughed at them because they fought each other, and did alot of other funny, kinda gross, stuff.

Ahhhh, this feels good after getting banged up in the snow. A warm fire, a hot tub spa...

roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate!
But, this is what Big Bear is all about:

Auld Lang Syne

2008 was really great... but 2009 will really shine! New Year's Eve was spent watching our 2008 videos, eating steak and crab, counting down to the New Year (on New York time), and then going outside to meet Cole and blast the poppers!

I also spent some reflecting, and one of my New Year's resolutions is to blog much more frequently!

Dreams Come True

I am learning how to play the piano. I have had 3 lessons already. The first song I learned to play is called "Dreams Come True." Right now, I am learning how to play a song called "Night Storms."

I accidently hurt Irisa when I was playing my Wii. Mommy wanted me to sing her a princess song. I didn'y know how to sing any princess songs! Then, I had an idea... I would play the piano for her to cheer her up! I played "Dreams Come True" instead of "Night Storms" because "Night Storms" sounds a little scary, and "Dreams Come True" sounds like a fairy tale song.

She liked it! She stopped crying! When she was a little baby, and she would cry, I would sing to her, and she would always stop crying. Now, I will play the piano for her to stop her from crying!

Puck- A Midsummer Day's Fairy Tale

This is one of our summer traditions... a picnic and a play in the park. We go about once a month, and get to experience live theatre al fresco. Mommy's trying to get us cultured and civilized!

Today, we saw a play about Puck (you know, the character from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream.") Puck is a trickster, and the best part of the play was when he tricked the Dad and the Mom. He pretended to be the Dad's horse, and then pretended to be the Mom's dog. They didn't know it was really Puck!

I laughed very hard! Now, I feel cultured!

My first out!

I hit this awesome pop fly...

right into left field, right by third base...

and right into the baseball mitt of big James! Even though I watched it going there, and even though I saw him catch it with my own eyes, I couldn't believe he actually caught it. He didn't drop it... my ball just stayed there in his mitt, like he had glue or something. I was frozen on home base. To say that I was mad would be a big, big UNDERSTATEMENT! My first time out was a BIG BUMMER! And, just for the record, I never want to talk about this out again!!!
